THE largest professional development event for psychologists in Dubai takes place at Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus this weekend on 01st and 02nd November 2013.
Leading industry professionals and delegates will head to the Academic City campus for the International Psychological Conference Dubai which will focus on all areas of professional psychology including clinical, organizational, forensic psychology among others.
The event, held on Friday and Saturday, is designed with the specific aim of strengthening the professional psychology community throughout the Middle East and will feature several internationally renowned keynote speakers.
Leading UK psychology professors and practitioners will provide talks on topics of current and local interest including women in leadership, diagnosis of mental health, the psychology of revenge and vengeance, risk and resilience in chronic pain as well as criminal profiling.
The conference will provide a range of learning opportunities, enable professional networking and facilitate new ways of thinking in psychology.
This will include a series of professional development workshops, discussion forums and paper presentations by authors from the UAE, Kuwait, KSA, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, UK and Poland.
Dr. Annie Crookes, Campus Academic Leader, School of Life Sciences at Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus, has been one of several prominent local psychologists driving the initiative and is looking forward to collaborating with her industry peers.
