CHICAGO — Crestview native Teaetta Gilbert, a doctoral student at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, has been inducted into the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society.

The 200-plus member society — inaugurated by Yale and Howard Universities in 2005 — recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education.

Gilbert, a Business Psychology major, is one of 33 students inducted into a network of pre-eminent scholars exemplifying academic and personal merit, character, service and advocacy for students traditionally underrepresented in the academy.

She attended Crestview Senior High School before completing undergraduate studies at the University of West Florida.

As an undergrad, she was a Papa John's scholarship recipient, a member of Psi Chi — a National Honor Society in psychology — and Alpha Phi Sigma — a National Honor Society in criminal justice — and competed in several track and field team events.
