VA Psychologist Violates Montana Administrative Rules

A Veterans Affairs psychologist at Fort Harrison has violated several state administrative rules after misdiagnosing a patient.

The Great Falls Tribune reports VA Psychologist Robert  J. Bateen of Helena dropped an Iraq veteran's traumatic brain injury disability rating from 70 to 10 percent.  A screening panel of the State Board of Psychology concluded last week, Bateen was not qualified to make the TBI diagnosis, he used an inadequate test, and he incorrectly characterized the results of the test.  Voluntary services chief for the VA at Fort Harrison Terrie Casey was unable to provide comment to Beartooth NBC because the matter is pending.
