Theresa Bauer and Elizabeth Cox introduce readers to the philosophy of Jungian archetypal psychology, developed by Dr. Charles Bebeau of the Avalon Jungian Archetypal Institute, in their informative new book, “Jungian Archetypal Psychology Made Easy: (We Promise)” (published by AuthorHouse).

Using the work of Carl Jung as his basis, Bebeau’s theory uses 12 archetypes to show an individual’s maturation process. These archetypes, illustrated in the book, are: warrior, artist, communicator, nourishing mother, golden child, soul mother, lover, dark mother, teacher, elder leader, idealist and mystic. According to the authors, looking at things through an archetypal lens results in a better, deeper understanding of oneself and the world.

“We have become so mechanized that inner knowledge and intuition have become less important,” the authors write. “It is important to also use the intuitive, spiritual part of our psyche in everyday life.”
