Sport Psychology: Motivation, Anxiety and Imagery

Christina Heilman instructs today, March 3 and 10. If you have an interest in sports or any performance domain (debate, music, dance) and wish to learn more about the mental aspects of performance, you will enjoy this workshop. This activity-based class covers the most effective and evidence-based methods of improving performance and preparing mentally for competition. Each meeting will focus on a particular element of Performance Psychology including calling your internal coach, getting a grasp on performance anxiety, and using imagery to harness your potential. All types of athletes and performers at various skill levels are welcome. Participants can range from adolescents to retirees or elite to recreational athletes. A skiing, sport, and outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Heilman earned her PhD in Sports Exercise Psychology. She has more than 10 years experience as an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and university lecturer.
