Psychology student Kevin Hujar with President Chuck Middleton. Kevin created Appreciation Plus to help boost togetherness within the Roosevelt community.

CHICAGO--(ENEWSPF)--December 3, 2013. As finals at Roosevelt University approached, Kevin Hujar, an undergraduate psychology student and resident in the University’s Wabash Building, created Appreciation Pulse to help boost togetherness within the Wabash community. Each of the residence hall’s 600 students was encouraged to write a compliment, note or happy thought about another resident. The messages were placed on a large board on the building’s 14th floor and more than 60% of the residents received a compliment.

A transfer student who wants to become a middle school counselor after graduation, Hujar is a member of the 21-student Spirit/Public Relations Committee of the Wabash Community Council. “I believe that we as human beings deserve to be recognized, loved and complimented,” he said.
