Psychology: a neglected field

WOULD like to draw the attention of our educational authorities to the fact that we lag behind in many fields or areas as a result of our lack of knowledge of psychology.

This is a science or study of the thought process and behaviour of human beings and animals in their interaction with the environment.

In Pakistan, this subject is only being taught at the MA or MSc level, but not at the FA and FSc, BA or BSc level, especially in Balochistan. As a result, we lack specialised psychologists in the following fields: industry, education, clinics, society, military, guidance and counselling, sports, health, physiology and criminology. Many people suffer as a consequence of this.

Hence, educational authorities should work honestly and seriously towards this if they want to see development and change in the above-mentioned fields.
