Stress is inevitable. Any changes in our lives are likely to cause stress, even happy events, such as a new job, birth of a child or a wedding.

Stress refers to a situation both binding and physiological processes put in place by the body to adapt. In adult humans, stress can have physical origins Primal Stress, chemical or psychological. In today's society, the psychological causes are more common, especially in the workplace. In the short term, stress is not necessarily bad, if not indispensable, but its long-term effects can cause serious health problems.

Biology, stress is a response of the organism to maintain the biological balance in a functional state.

In psychology, the concept of stress includes several concepts:

The study of stress also involves medicine, psychology and sociology.

The term "stress" is now widely used in everyday life to denote a set of conditions - often negative - of social, emotional or professional.

The definition of stress is often linked to the concept of performance. However, the link between these two concepts is not so obvious and can not find a consensus. Indeed, for some individuals, stress is vital to their performance, it boosts their chances to complete what they have started. For example, some people say that the stress - or rather in their term "challenge", "motivation" - is the sine qua non of their social and professional success. For other individuals, stress inhibits their capacity and prevents them from carrying out what they have done. A quantity of antistress therapies have emerged as the market for well-being.
