Pamela S. Lydic

Pamela S. Lydic, 54, of Dunkirk died Friday morning (Feb. 17, 2012) at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 14, 1957 in Dunkirk, the daughter of LaVerne and Marsha (Fisk) Hall of Florida and Fredonia, NY.

Mrs. Lydic received a bachelor's degree in psychology from State University of New York at Fredonia and a master's de-gree in administrative social work from State University of New York College at Buffalo in 1982.

She served as the President/CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce since its formation in February 1999 and retired in 2009.

In 2008, the Chamber honored Mrs. Lydic as its Person of the Year. She considered the consolidation of the two county chambers into one entity as the most memorable of her experiences in her position.

Previous to the County Chamber, Mrs. Lydic served as the Executive Vice President of the Northern Chautauqua Chamber after spending 20 years in her family's construction business, L.G. Hall Construction. In 1998 and 1999, she was a member of the steering committee for The Business Council of New York State's Coalition for Mandate Reform and served on the board of directors of the New York State Chamber Alliance.

Mrs. Lydic was a trustee for Jamestown Community College and served on the board of directors for the Jamestown Community College Foundation, Chatauqua County Workforce Investment Board, Jobs Chautauqua, Dunkirk/ Sheridan Economic Development Zone and Progress Park. She currently served on the board of directors for the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator and the Shorewood Women's Association.

Pam had a love of family, travel and serving the community.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Brian Lydic, whom she married Oct. 21, 1989; a daughter, Chelsea Lydic of Dunkirk; a sister, Heidi (Marshall) Seddon of Fredonia; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church, 39 Matteson St., Fredonia. Pastor Brent Thompson will officiate. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
