Middlesex University Dubai holds annual career day

Some of the high profile companies participating in the event included HSBC, Master Card, Ernst Young, Jumeirah Group, DP world, Majid Al Futtaim, Hilton and many more. A large number of final year students and Post Graduates participated. A total exceeding 700 students attended the event.

The aim of the annual career day was to give the students the opportunity to submit their CV's for entry level graduate positions, interviews with reputed firms, learn about prospective employers in UAE, network with industry professionals and make significant contacts.

Sara Khalil, a final year student studying Psychology with Counseling, said, "It was a good experience to meet different companies, and learn some of their professional attitudes. Student usually do not get to see how the management works but careers day was like a tour of what is behind the big screen."

Accompanied by Professor Raed Awamleh, Campus Director, Muna Al Gurg, Director of Retail at Esa Saleh Al Gurg Group and Chairperson of the "Young Arab Leaders" officially inaugurated the career day by giving an inspirational speech to the students.

Muna Al Gurg said, "I would strongly recommend the private sector as the best option to begin your career in order to gain greater exposure to global practices as well as benefit from training which will also help you learn to do business in the global environment."

The event was organized by Careers Employability Service. "There was a constant flow of students and the campus was just filled with optimism. We are specially proud that over the years our Career fair has grown not only in terms of number but the quality of employers who recognize the need to hire fresh talent," said Ms. Alveena Javed, Middlesex's Careers and Employability Service Manager.
