AMANDA POUNDSTONE, of Ottawa, completed a Doctor of Psychology at Midwestern University's College of Health Sciences. The graduation ceremony and conferring of degrees took place on the MWU Campus in Downers Grove on Aug. 29.

Poundstone is the daughter of Bob and Diane Poundstone, of Ottawa. She graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 2003 and earned a Bachelor of Science in health science and psychology from Bradley University in 2007. While at MWU, she served as class treasurer and earned the highest degree of praise, graduating summa cum laude. Poundstone plans to practice clinical psychology in Wilmington, S.C.
