HSU presents special awards

Four special awards were presented May 11 at Hardin-Simmons University’s commencement exercises.

Jennifer Crisp, of Abilene, received the Hemphill Graduate Honor Award, presented to the graduate who has excelled in academic studies, possesses character and behavior consistent with the university’s purpose, and exhibits potential for significant contribution to his or her chosen field. She is the daughter of Royce and Pam Money.

Kaitlin Martin, of Abilene, received the Minnie L. Anderson Award, presented to a female senior who has spent three or more years in residence at HSU, and who has excelled in character, personal development and service to the university. She is the daughter of Michael and Irene Funk.

Kayla Dickerson, of Early, received the Julius Olsen Medal, presented to the graduate who has the highest grade-point average, has exemplified the highest scholarly achievement and has completed at least 90 semester hours of residence credit at HSU. She is the daughter of Stewart and Teena Dickerson.

Karl Wilcox, of Granbury, received the George Skiles Anderson Award, presented to a male senior who has spent three or more years in residence at HSU, has excelled in character, personal development and service to the university. He is the son of Ray and Rhonda Wilcox.
