I have it on good authority that when asked what it’s like to be rich, Prime Minister John Key responded along the lines of “you don’t have to worry about the car breaking down and not being able to afford to fix it, and you can help family out without worrying about them paying you back”. Okay, so it wouldn’t have gone down well if he’d said “I go swimming in my money vault every morning”, but it’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the joys of having pots of cash.
