Hires and promotions (Jan. 24)

Rufat Agayev, Matt King and Michael Drake, patrol deputies in the field services division; Carrie Anderson, Katie Nechiporenko and John LaFerriere, corporal; Thomas Ray and Matthew B. Iverson, sergeant; Scott Morton, Court Transport Division; Vince Smith, correctional officer; and Jen Meslow, 24/7 Sobriety Program Coordinator.

Agayev graduated from the North Dakota State Community and Technical College, Wahpeton, and worked at Circle of Nations, Wahpeton, before joining the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in 2011.

King has worked with the sheriff’s office since 2011 as a reserve deputy while also farming. He earned his peace officer’s license at Lake Region State College, Devils Lake, N.D.

Anderson will be assigned to the Corrections Division of the Cass County Jail. She has been employed with the sheriff’s office since 2009, serving as a field training officer, a member of the Crisis Intervention Team and a member of the Regional Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

Nechiporenko will be assigned to the Corrections Division of the Cass County Jail. She graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with bachelor’s degrees in psychology, criminal justice studies and sociology and a master’s degree in forensic psychology. She started her career in 2011 with the Cass County Jail, where she was a member of Crisis Intervention Team.

LaFerriere will be assigned to the Corrections Division of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Since 2006, he has been employed at the Cass County Jail, where he was a field training officer and involved in recruiting.

Ray will be assigned to the Corrections Division of the Cass County Jail. He has been employed at the sheriff’s office since 2008 and was previously assigned to the Corrections Division as a corporal.

Iverson will be assigned to the Corrections Division. He has been employed at the sheriff’s office for 14 years. He previously held the position of corporal in the Corrections Division at the Cass County Jail.

Morton has been employed at the sheriff’s office since 2009 as a correctional officer. Prior to being hired full time at the sheriff’s office, he served with the Reserve Unit.

Smith has been employed with the sheriff’s office since 1990 as a juvenile detention officer.

Meslow was has been a correctional officer with the sheriff’s office since 2012. Meslow also assists with the Court Transport Division.

Drake began his career with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office as a correctional officer in 2012.

Three promoted at Noridian Healthcare

Noridian Healthcare Solutions, Fargo, has promoted Melissa Nelson to manager of provider enrollment in Jurisdiction E and Jurisdiction F, Terri Monilaws to manager of the Part A and Part B Provider Call Center and Jeff Iwen to director in provider audit for Jurisdiction F.

Nelson has worked for Noridian since 2004 as a customer service representative and was promoted to team leader in Part B Reopenings in 2012. She has a bachelor’s degree in graphic communications with an emphasis in multimedia from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Monilaws began working for Noridian in 1998 as a correspondence examiner in preprocess. Last year, she was named team leader in provider enrollment. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance and economics from Mayville (N.D.) State University.

Iwen has worked for Noridian since 2000, first as an auditor and later as audit team leader. He grew up in Fargo and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lakeland College, Sheboygan, Wis.

Emalee Hedberg hired at NetWork Center Inc.

NetWork Center Inc., Fargo, has hired Emalee Hedberg as a graphic design and marketing coordinator. She graduated in December from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in graphic communications and a minor in mass communications.

She joined NetWork Center after interning there for more than a year.

Pearce named president of Sanford Research

Sanford Health has named David Pearce as the new president of Sanford Research.

He replaces Dr. Gene Hoyme, who has transitioned to be Sanford’s new chief of genetics and genomic medicine. Hoyme will also retain his positions as medical director of Sanford Imagenetics and chief academic officer for Sanford.

Pearce, who previously served as Sanford Research’s vice president and chief operating officer, now oversees all Sanford research activities including more than 200 researchers, five research centers and more than 350 ongoing clinical trials.

Pearce will maintain his role as director of the Children’s Health Research Center at Sanford Research and continue to run his lab, which is internationally regarded for its work with Batten disease, a group of pediatric neurodegenerative disorders he has studied for more than a decade.

As Sanford Research’s vice president and COO, Pearce led efforts to establish the Sanford BioBank, Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Research and a global rare disease registry.

Prior to joining Sanford Research in 2009, he was a researcher and associate professor at the University of Rochester (N.Y.). A native of the United Kingdom, he graduated from Wolverhampton Polytechnic and he has a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Bath. Pearce also did postdoctoral work at the University of Rochester and Oxford University.

Bailey’s PDR hires Duncan in sales

Dean Duncan has joined Bailey’s PDR, 3302 4th Ave. S., Fargo, as a sales professional.

Bailey’s PDR offers automotive paintless dent repair services to body shops, dealerships, rental agencies, car auctions and the general public.

Two new providers join Essentia Health

Gregory Johnson, a nurse practitioner, has joined the pediatrics department at Essentia Health Clinic, Park Rapids, Minn., and Kara Cline, a psychologist, has joined the pain management department at the Essentia Health Clinic, Moorhead.

Johnson has a long history in public service, having worked as a volunteer firefighter and in law enforcement prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. He earned a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Cline earned a master’s degree in counseling and a doctorate degree in counseling psychology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She also completed a post-doctorate residency in psychology with the Minnesota Consortium for Advanced Rural Psychology Training.

Credit Collections Bureau promotes two

The Credit Collections Bureau has promoted Carrie Ruth to collection associate and Brady Owens to collection specialist.

Both work in the company’s Fargo office.

CoreLink Administrative Solutions hires one

CoreLink Administrative Solutions, Fargo, has hired Andrea Nyland as a service delivery analyst.

She attended Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, where she earned a degree in psychology and sociology. She then earned a master’s degree in school counseling at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Nyland previously worked at The Village Family Service Center.

Boroski joins Blueprint IT as tech consultant

Blueprint IT Solutions, Fargo, has hired David Boroski as a technology consultant.

He has more than 15 years of experience in business, hospitality and technology sales.

First State Bank names VP at Enderlin branch

First State Bank of North Dakota has hired Daryn Christl as vice president/loan officer in its branch in Enderlin, N.D.

Christl is a native of Fingal, N.D., and a graduate of Valley City (N.D.) State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. His background includes finance experience and farming. He previously was an ag lender at Klein Bank, Madison, Minn.

Lugert named VP of Don’s Car Wash

Shaun Lugert has been named vice president of Don’s Car Wash, Fargo. The business has two locations in Fargo, 2727 13th Ave. S. and 2500 52nd Ave. S.

Lugert has held the position of general manager with the company for the past 18 years.

Don’s Car Wash went under new ownership in September when president and CEO Dan Durr became the new owner.

First International Bank Trust hires three

First International Bank Trust, Fargo, has hired Jake Germundson and Norman Nicholson as community bankers and Nate Monson as a mortgage loan officer.

Germundson and Nicholson both work at the branch at 3001 25th St. S. Germundson has a degree in accounting from North Dakota State University. Nicholson previously worked at Sea View Farms and has a degree in agribusiness from NDSU.

Monson works in the Moorhead branch at 800 30th Ave. S. He has 27 years of mortgage lending experience in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Christ, Wood join local accounting firm

Ashley Christ and Steve Wood have joined the staff of Fiebiger, Swanson, West Co. Both are in-charge accountants and work in the firm’s Fargo office.

Christ focuses on individual and business income tax preparation, tax planning and tax representation. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Dakota State University. She earned her public accountant certification from North Dakota in 2013. Christ has four years of public accounting experience.

Wood focuses primarily on conducting financial audits, reviews and compilations in a variety of industries including construction, dealerships, non-profits and general commercial clients. He graduated from NDSU with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy. He earned his CPA from North Dakota in 2012. Wood has four years of public accounting experience.

Discovery Benefits hires three in Fargo office

Discovery Benefits in Fargo has hired Joe Krabbenhoft as senior operations manager, Derek Harne as an information technology service desk support specialist and Sue Lenhardt as a front desk receptionist.

Ramada hires banquet manager, sous chef

The Ramada Plaza and Suites, Fargo, has hired Jerry Erbstoesser as banquet manager and Peter Ochsner as banquet sous chef.

Erbstoesser is a native of Fargo-Moorhead and began his hospitality career at the Village Inn in Moorhead where he held various positions before being promoted to general manager. In 2008, he became the co-owner of the Silver Moon Restaurant in Fargo, which was later sold.

Ochsner began his culinary career by attending LeCordon Bleu and working at Kincaid’s. Following culinary school, he accepted a position at the Minot (N.D.) Country Club where he was promoted to executive chef.

Houston Engineering hires civil technician

Brett Barber has joined Houston Engineering’s Fargo office as a civil technician.

Barber is originally from Fergus Falls, Minn. He earned an associate degree in land surveying from the North Dakota State College of Science and a bachelor’s degree in English from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn.

He previously worked for KLJ and the Otter Tail County Highway Department.

Nardini Fire Equipment hires service technician

Nardini Fire Equipment, Fargo, has hired Dallas Reger as a service technician.

Reger is originally from Fargo and he most recently worked for Johnson’s Lawn Care.

Intelligent InSites in Fargo hires Oss, Pike

Intelligent InSites, Fargo, has hired Cody Oss as a software engineer and Chris Pike as a business intelligence solutions architect.

Oss graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with bachelor’s degrees in computer science and music.

Pike previously worked at Accenture as a senior business intelligence developer for Microsoft. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from UND.

Widmer Roel hires three staff accountants

Widmer Roel, Fargo, has hired Andrew Huus, Kyle Veum and Tim Erickson as staff accountants. Huus is working in the tax department, and Veum and Erickson work in the audit department.

Huus earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, Veum graduated from North Dakota State University and Erickson is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead.

American Crystal Sugar hires one, promotes two

American Crystal Sugar Co. has hired Koel Stave as tax coordinator. The company has promoted Marc Connelly to ag operations manager for the Hillsboro (N.D.) District and Brent Haugen to maintenance engineer at the Hillsboro factory.

Stave previously worked as an assistant store manager with Walgreens and as a bank teller at Bell State Bank and Trust. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Connelly joined ACSC in 1998 as a senior agriculturist in Hillsboro. He earned a bachelor’s degree in ag mechanization from NDSU.

Haugen graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering. He has been with ACSC since 2003 and has held other positions including shift supervisor, construction supervisor and shift administrator.

Plains Art Museum hires Sobolik, Youngbird

The Plains Art Museum, Fargo, has hired Melissa Sobolik as development director and Laura Youngbird as program director for an outreach project with Native American artists.

Sobolik will lead fundraising efforts for donations and grants, membership, corporate partnerships and legislative outreach. She was previously director of agency and client services at the Great Plains Food Bank. She is also a member of the Fargo City Commission and has served on the boards for Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity, Metro Youth Partnership and Theatre B. Sobolik earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Concordia College.

Youngbird previously taught at Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, N.D. She is a visual artist based in Breckenridge, Minn., who works in clay, collage and printmaking. Youngbird is president of the Three Rivers Art Council, and has served as president of the Red River Indian Association and on the board of Lake Region Arts Council. She will direct the museum’s Creativity among Native American Artists program, which offers expanded exhibition, professional development and programming opportunities for Native artists in the Dakotas, Minnesota and Wisconsin through a grant from the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation.

Youngbird graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with bachelor’s degrees in fine arts and arts education and a master’s degree in drawing and printmaking.

Stuckle joins Gallery 4 as a member artist

Doug Stuckle, an oil and acrylic painter, has joined Gallery 4, 114 Broadway, Fargo, as a member artist. Stuckle paints many subjects in a representational, realism style.

He is originally from Courtenay, N.D., and is a full-time artist with his home and studio in Glyndon, Minn.
