Hill appointed to North Carolina Psychology Board

BOONE—Dr. Robert Hill, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University, has been reappointed by Gov. Pat McCrory to a three-year term on the North Carolina Psychology Board.

The board licenses qualified persons to practice psychology and takes disciplinary action when licensees are found to be practicing in violation of law and ethics. The board also ensures non-licensed individuals do not practice psychology or present themselves as psychologists.

Hill is vice chair of the board.

A member of the faculty at Appalachian since 1992, Hill’s research interests include perfectionism, interpersonal characteristics, self-injury and personality.

His research has been published in Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, Residential Treatment for Children and Youth, Personality and Individual Differences and Journal of Personality Assessment.
