Woman says DA pushing her for guilty plea in ’95 killing

SANTA ANA – Norma Patricia Esparza could leave a Central Justice Center courtroom Thursday in shackles or holding the hand of her 4-year-old daughter.

Esparza, 39, a psychology professor who works at the World Health Organization in Geneva, said she was pressured by prosecutors to admit as part of a plea deal her role in the killing of Gonzalo Dominguez Ramirez, whom she said raped her in 1995, or have her $300,000 bail revoked.
