Whole Sacred Wellness

Whole Sacred Wellness is devoted to sustainable wellness through connection to Self, Others, and the Earth.  My name is Sensei Sahnya Thom, and my Buddhist refuge name is Tingdzin Sheltso (Samadhi Crystal Lake).  I am known to be a dynamic Master Martial Artist, teacher, and coach.  I have a B.A. in PsychoBiology and currently finishing my Master's in Clinical Psychology.  My research is in Jungian Psychology, Eco-Psychology, Positive Psychology, Deep Leadership, and the Human Potential.  I am a 5th Degree Master Martial Artist and life-time meditator.  I teach workshops, classes, and speak on topics that expand and elevate others to a fresh optimized level of understanding of what true wellness is and how we can serve others when we are fully living in our bodies and sink our minds into our hearts.  If you wish to know more about me, please see my personal website above.

Why Whole Sacred Wellness?  With my 31 years of Martial Arts experience and 20 years as a Personal Fitness Trainer, I have come to deeply understand the mind, body, and spirit and share the view that sacred wellness is about embracing the human potential to CONNECT and practice  stewardship over ourselves, others, and the earth with gratitude, acceptance, mindfulness, and compassion.  My approach to wellness comes from extensive experience with diverse clients and students who discover their true strength and happiness when they have a deep loving relationship with their mind through meditation and prayer, their body through realistic strength and cardiovascular training rituals, and their spirit through deliberate and meaningful connection to others and the Earth.

There is "WE" in wellness and "I" in illness, and I passionately encourage this shift in view.  Illness is not limited to just body form.  This nation has a spiritual and emotional epidemic I like to term, "I'm Not Perfect Enough Disorder."  This causes negative thought patterns, violence, stress, anger, and a lack of compassion towards self and others.  I would like to shift your perspective toward wellness to a more accepting and compassionate approach and view your wellness path as a sacred discovery of what you do love about yourself and the gifts you give to this world, too.  It is not just about looking good, although I am not minimizing the need to look our best, it is about fearlessly embodying this precious human life we were given and have the courage to be our authentic self in the most healthy body we can with an aware mind, clear vision and purpose, and open and compassionate heart towards ourselves and others.  It is workable!  And it is a much more fun path!  I assure you.

This Whole Sacred Wellness Warrior path is a journey.  It is a progressive quest you choose to experience.  This journey transforms you deeply at cell level and into a space of the sacred which can mean different things to different people.  It is not a path "TO" a goal that is only of the surface (e.g. exterior beauty) but rather a path "OF" exploring what lies beneath the surface . . . where you truly live.  A place we call "home."  This results in both interior and exterior beauty and vitality.  This IS sustainable wellness and dramatically improves the quality of our lives. . .improves the quality of other people's lives. . .and improves the quality of the Earth as a Whole.  Connecting to Self, Others, and the Earth transcends all other fitness and wellness programs that rely on hype, fads, unhealthy ego.  It is not sustainable and often causes even more suffering.

The Whole Sacred Wellness Warrior Path is no longer where the field of wellness is heading.  It has arrived!  There is no turning back.  Our understanding of what makes a person whole, whether it is from a psychotherapeutic perspective or wellness coaching perspective, means to evaluate the person's relationship to body (e.g. posture, injuries, pain, strength, flexibility), mind (e.g. thoughts, emotions, addictions), others (e.g. family, communities, work, friends), and Earth (e.g. natural world, animals, place).  Wellness is NOT just about being fit, although that is part of the whole.  Whole Sacred Wellness is NOT about being perfect.  It is about being Whole.

I invite you take the pledge of being a Whole Sacred Wellness Warrior and walk this journey of unbreakable confidence in who you are as a human with the boundless potential to grow, elevate, expand, love the moment, and wake up!
