Watch a webinar live from a BPS conference

Psychologists and members of the public are invited to submit questions to an expert webinar broadcast live from the annual conference of the BPS Division of Health Psychology.

On Thursday 17 September Dr Vincent Deary will use a clinical case to demonstrate that, in order to understand and intervene in someone’s life, health psychologists must work in a truly multidisciplinary way. Dr Deary is Reader in Health Psychology in Northumbria University.

His talk will focus on a single clinical case, Anne. He will suggest that an understanding of the client’s predicament can be formed only if there is a dialogue between, amongst others, engineers, sociologists, philosophers, political scientists, psychotherapists and health psychologists.

Complex conditions need complex narratives, he will tell this British Psychological Society conference, and the latter need to be the basis of genuinely useful interventions.

The webinar will be broadcast live from 2.20pm on 17 September. To view it, go to Youtube on the day and search for ‘DHP 2015 Live – Vincent Deary’.

To submit a question for Dr Deary to consider in the webinar, email it to the Division in advance.
