Timothy James “TJ” Dodge Jr., a 19-year-old sophomore from Rockland studying psychology at the University of Maine, died Tuesday morning as the result of a car crash on Route 2 in Old Town. Dodge lived in Kennebec Hall.

“Anytime we lose a student, the entire UMaine community feels the loss,” Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Robert Dana is quoted as saying in a press release. “Our thoughts are with TJ’s family and friends. We extend our sincerest sympathies during this difficult time.”

UMaine spokesman Ron Lisnet said no cause for the crash has yet been verified. It was a single-car accident.
