MISSOULA - One University of Montana club decided they didn't want to raise funds with a bake sale or car wash.

Instead, the UM Psychology Department found 12 University men and 12 dogs up for adoption, and now the Hunks and Hounds calendar is available around Missoula.

The psychology department rallied together, found a photographer and even asked one of their teachers to step in for a shot when someone else cancelled. Each month shows a different muscular young man playing with dogs, and features quotes about what they like to do. The calendar includes noted pyschologists' birthdays, in keeping with the psychology department.

Club president Elizabeth Corrigan said it's 'beyond exciting' to see the idea get printed.

"It was kind of a pipe dream, nobody really thought it was going to happen, but everything fell into place," Corrigan said.

The calendars are available for $10 at Grizzly Grocery and El Diablo in Missoula, both at the intersection of South Higgins Avenue and East Beckwith Avenue.

15 percent of the proceeds go to the Humane Society of Western Montana, and the rest goes to the psychology club.
