We do this by preparing a new kind of Helping Professional-trained in the best of modern psychology informed by the Catholic-Christian vision of the person, marriage and the family-using methods and technologies that best support successful student learning, and make our education accessible virtually anywhere.

Help us build new online courses in psychology for today’s professionals. We are teaching youth and family life ministers, teachers, mothers of children young and old, seminary personnel, parish priests, and community and social service leaders of all kinds. We teach students in Massachusetts, Michigan, and South Dakota, as well as Australia, Russia and Thailand. As the Product Development Manager, you will be the project lead for courses that will influence how hundreds and thousands of students think about and put this subject into practice in their professions.

Product Development Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the design and development of new academic products – based on formal and informal research plus first-hand knowledge – according to a method provided by IPS. The candidate will work collaboratively with a number of teams/individuals -e.g., academic faculty, marketing, academic operations, consultants, etc. – in order to create academic products that meet customer and market needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with senior IPS leadership, marketing, and academics to develop new programs, upgraded programs, and revised programs that reflect business and academic goals. Produce detailed program specs that align with goals and can be implemented by instructional designers.
• Continuously increase knowledge of field in order to recommend new programs and/or revisions of current programs in collaboration with business and academic teams.
• Assess current Product Development products, designs and outcomes in order to determine best opportunities for increased student satisfaction and product quality.
• Assess internal capabilities, implementation timetables, and costs against value added to product from student perspective.
• Function in the role of Course Developer as needed, most often in media design and development.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary.

POSITION IN ORGANIZATION
REPORTS TO: Associate Vice President of Product Development

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of strategic experience in new product or program development.
• Masters degree required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and history of positive results achieved collaboratively.
• Experience working with higher education professionals preferred.

This is a full-time position at the Institute’s Arlington, Virginia headquarters. Compensation, including a competitive benefits package, is based on experience and performance and is a combination of salary and incentive. IPS is an equal opportunity employer.
