The direction of a commute relates to marital bliss

WASHINGTON - A new study shows there is a direct correlation between marital bliss and whether the couple commute in the same direction.

Perhaps this calls for a dozen red compass roses.

Chinese researchers asked about 400 people to rate their happiness in marriage, and how they get to work each day, TheAtlanticCities.com reports of the "Journal of Experimental Social Psychology" study. The couples didn't have to be together or leave at the same time, but the so-called "direction effect" was still there.

The effect was even present in couples the researchers paired up randomly. Those who took different directions to perform a given task didn't like each other as much.
