Student standouts: week of 6/28

Ackeem Hill, a Sociology major, graduated from Union College on Sunday, June 16 during the College's 219th Commencement exercises with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Kimberly Bolick and Tianna Dimare, both class of 2015 students at Connecticut College, have been named to the 2013 spring semester Dean's High Honors list.

The following residents were among the University of Rhode Island's students who received their undergraduate or graduate degrees this spring: Andrew V. Ruggeri received a BA in German and a BS in Biomedical Engineering; Chelsea C. Missaggia received a BS in Textiles Fashion Merchandising and Design with a Minor in General Business summa cum laude; Kayla Farley received a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology summa cum laude; Marissa Zepf received a BA in Biology a BA in Elementary Education; and William James Hulme received a BS in Marketing.

Several local students have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Spring 2013: Rebecca Allen; Michaela Copley; Allison Langh; Craig Levergood; and Laura Strickland.

Makenzie Corbett will join the incoming class of Blue Hens during the University of Delaware's New Student Orientation (NSO) program this summer. Corbett is one of approximately 3,600 new students scheduled to attend NSO.

Jamie Horrigan, a Biology major; and Colleen Murray, a Psychology major have been named to the Siena College President's List for the spring 2013 semester.

Courtney Onofrio and Lindsey Gorgol have been named to the Fairfield University spring 2013 Dean's List.

Keith Bohlin and Caitlin Dourney have been named to the Spring 2013 Dean's List at Wake Forest University.

Taylor Tognacci, a sophomore, was named to the spring semester 2013 Dean's List at Merrimack College. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

The following local residents made the Dean's List for Spring 2013 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology: Slater De Mont, a fourth-year student in the game design and development program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences; and
Madison Mc Kenna, fourth-year student in the professional photographic illustration program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Rebecca E. Pierce graduated from Becker College, at the 225th Commencement Ceremony held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester. Pierce earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude.

Max Teitelman, class of 2016, was named to the spring term Suffield Academy honor roll.

Maria Rabbia was among the nearly 1,100 students to receive degrees from American International College in Springfield. Rabbia, a Clinical Psychology (MACL) major, was awarded a Master of Arts degree.

Evan Dahl, a sophomore at Lawrence Academy, earned a place on that school's 2013 spring trimester honor roll.
