Elections for Homecoming king and queen came to an end Tuesday with six candidates left in the running.
On Tuesday, Student Congress posted the results of fall elections in the University Center. Among those results was the outcome of Homecoming king and queen candidates. There are three potential queens and three potential kings; however, only one will be chosen at the coronation, which will take place at the men’s basketball game on Nov. 15.
Sarpreet Singh, Homecoming queen candidate and psychology senior, said she was extremely excited to see the results.
“I think the Homecoming queen really embodies what a true Maverick is,” Sarpreet Singh said. “It shows that you’re interested in making a difference on campus and it really shows your Maverick spirit.”
Navjot Singh, Homecoming king candidate and psychology senior, said being Homecoming king would be a great opportunity.
“I’m very proud to represent my school, and I’m really excited to have this opportunity,” Navjot Singh said.
Fine arts junior John Jordan said he wanted to run for Homecoming king to show students how great it is to be involved on campus.
“I love being involved on campus,” Jordan said. “I wanted to become a figure for others to display how great it is to get involved.”
The Shorthorn could not reach the other three candidates.
