Strategy encourages more Indigenous psychologists

That's one of the aims of the Reconciliation Action Plan, which was launched at the weekend at the national conference of the Australian Psychological Society - or APS.

It picks up on broader government moves to address the gap in health and well-being between indigenous Australians and the broader population.

And it commits the APS to a range of actions over the next two years - including a major push to promote psychology as a career to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Presenter: Corinne Podger

Speaker: Professor Pat Dudgeon, Indigenous psychologist and chair of the Australian Indigenous Psychologists Association
