A Worcester woman has agreed to pay a $500 fine to settle allegations of the state Board of Registration of Psychologists that she identified herself as a psychologist on a clinical supervision document submitted to the Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health Professionals. The board announced the settlement Friday in a press release.

The board said its review found that Paula M. Morrissette had never been issued a valid psychologist's license by the board.

The board also announced disciplinary action against Caroline Marvin of Littleton, who reportedly continued to practice psychology after her license expired. Ms. Marvin agreed to pay a $500 fine and complete continuing education hours.

In addition, Sheldon H. Wagner of Lexington agreed to pay a $24,000 fine to resolve charges that he practiced psychology without a license. Mr. Wagner serviced as clinical director of Behavioral Development and Educational Services, which provided special education services to New Bedford public schools, according to the release from the board. His license expired in 1996, the board said. His case was referred to the state inspector general's office.

The board currently licenses 5,506 psychologists in Massachusetts.
