Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of August 14, 2013.
The Board appointed Ms. Alissa Bailey Xavier as School Psychologist in the Department of Student Services. Ms. Bailey has most recently served as an hourly para-educator with St. Mary’s County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Towson University and a Master’s degree in School Psychology from Lewis and Clark College.
The Board also appointed Dr. Nicola Williams as Coordinator of Certificated Staffing and Minority Recruitment in the Department of Human Resources. Dr. Williams is currently a Senior Literacy Associate with the Public Consulting Group in Washington, D.C. She earned both her Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Virginia and her Doctorate from The University of Michigan.
These appointments become effective immediately.
