Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, Inc. (SKLD), the Westport, CT-based nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce the election of Marc L. Hoffman of Stamford, CT and Terry Ann Weil of Rye Brook, NY to its board of directors.

Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, Inc.(SKLD), the Westport, CT-based nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce the election of Marc L. Hoffman of Stamford, CT and Terry Ann Weil of Rye Brook, NY to the organization's board of directors.

Marc L. Hoffman grew up in Stamford, CT before receiving a BA in Psychology from Williams College, and a Masters in Child Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University in New York City. After teaching at a private school and serving as a research assistant in the Psychology Department at Yale University, he founded the Hoffman Educational Group in 2002, an academic coaching and tutoring organization providing families with a range of educational services. He also co-founded and serves as Chief Marketing Officer of Building Blocks Early Learning Center LLC in Fairfield County, CT, offering daycare and educational services to children from 8 weeks to 5 years old.

Mr. Hoffman is also a motivational speaker and advocate for people with learning differences, and chairman of the board of Project Eye-to-Eye, a national nonprofit that provides mentoring programs for students labeled LD or ADHD. He notes that he elected to return to launch his businesses in the Stamford community that helped him deal with his own learning challenges, while also allowing him to stay close to the support system his family continues to provide.

“It’s a privilege to be elected to the board of directors of an organization that I’ve admired for years for their work improving the quality of life for people with learning differences/ADHD,” said Marc Hoffman. “The resources Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities provides are extremely impressive. Terry Ann Weil of Rye Brook, NY received a B.A. in Economics from Villanova University. After working on Wall Street for five years, she embarked on a decade-long career as a salesperson representing a wide array of goods and services. As the mother of two boys with learning differences, she has become active in the communities of both the Windward School in White Plains, NY and Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, CT.

Terry Ann Weil is an active member of the American Yacht Club of Rye, NY and Deacon of the Rye Presbyterian Church, as well as a member of the Parent Board of the Windward School. She credits SKLD with keeping her up to date on significant information regarding her family’s needs, as well as how special each child with learning differences is.

“Smart Kids with LD is taking wonderful steps to de-stigmatize the LD community and help embrace their intelligence and creativity,” noted Terry Ann Weil. “I am honored to be a part of the organization’s ongoing discussion of issues affecting learning disabilities today, and I look forward to working on the board in providing expert resources for parents to inspire their children with learning disabilities to succeed.”
