SINGAPORE PRESS HOLDINGS LIMITED : Psychology and Hospitality Courses … – 4

Singapore, 6 April 2013 - Psychology, allied health, business and hospitality courses garnered the most enquiries at the CATS Classified Learning For Success Education Exhibition held today at Bugis+ Atrium. The annual event attacted a crowd of around 6,000.

Mr Philip Kuah, Managing Director of Hui Kuah Pte Ltd, said: "We had alot of enquiries on allied health courses from school leavers and polytechnic students. Some of the popular universities offering such courses in Australia are La Trobe, University of South Australia and University of Sydney."

Manager of Student Recruitment and Marketing of TMC Academy, Mr Barry Chua, said: "Most of the visitors asked about our diploma and higher diploma programmes. We are getting students making enquiries themselves, unlike in the previous years, where parents were asking on behalf of their children."

Among the visitors to the exhibition was Ms Nur Hayati, 24. She said: "I am here today to look for a course in psychology. I am working with youths, so such a course would be helpful."

Another visitor, Ms Diah, 30, said, "I am keen on a diploma in hospitality, and there are a lot of choices here at the exhibition. I am doing human resources now, but having qualifications in hospitality would help since I would like to go into recruitment for events. The exhibitors are very helpful and knowledgeable."

In total, more than 300 courses at certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels were available. The programmes, represented by 14 exhibitors from various private education organisations, were provided by over 100 universities and other academic institutions from countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, New Zealand and Canada.

The event was supported by a four-page Learning For Success newspaper advertising feature published in CATS Classified in The Straits Times today.
