SAU grad donates library to alma mater

LAURINBURG — When Dr. Randy Wolfe retired from his position as chair of the Psychology Department at Limestone College, he had to decide what to do with the psychology and biology textbooks lining his shelves. The 1969 St. Andrews graduate decided to donate the collection to his alma mater.

“I have been involved in the re-emergence of the sciences at St. Andrews and when I learned that there were shelves available for books for the psychology department it was a natural connection,” said Wolfe. “I would rather donate books someplace they might make a difference than leave them on my shelves with no one having access to them.”

It is a donation greatly appreciated by St. Andrews Natural and Life Sciences Department Chair Dr. John Knesel.

“I am delighted to see a number of texts by Stephen Jay Gould and am sure our students will enjoy them,” said Knesel.

Wolfe hopes that the books will be a resource for both students and faculty.

“Perhaps if students have the opportunity for access to some of these books,” said Wolfe, “They will find an aspect of psychology that will help them achieve the bliss that I have.”
