With over 22 years of experience working in commercial real estate, Dixon took a different route to his current position. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Seattle University.

“So much of what I do is managing people, motivating them and getting the most from them when it comes to performance and production. My advanced clinical psychology degree has been quite instrumental in helping me better understand people, how to read them as well as inspire them to do even more than they thought they could accomplish,” he explained.

As for his decision to pursue degrees in psychology with career plans to go into business, “It made the most sense to me. I enjoy working with people and wanted to work with people. No matter what field you enter, you can use psychology in any arena. An advanced degree provides opportunities as well as applies your personal skills in a professional field.”

Prior to joining Colliers, Dixon worked for Hines, a privately owned, international real estate firm, and was responsible for asset management services for the 35 properties totaling 3.5 million square feet as well as new business for the Sacramento area. Dixon has worked in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego in building successful teams.

According to Dixon, “Colliers is a wonderful organization with its priorities straight. It is built on local experts to represent the local community.” With his knowledge and advanced education, Dixon will work on continued success in his field and working for Colliers.
