Rofo Author Links Psychology to Biblical Teachings

The following press release was sent in by Kevin Finley, Publicist for Robert (R.J.) Chuck, local author of Shame: The Way of Redirection Unto THE PERSON Within:

When did the phrase "shame-based religious tradition" become common? Or, perhaps more importantly, why did it become common? For well over five thousand years, manking has been locked in to the misperception of shame having an event/action cause. In his debut book, Shame: The Way of Redirection, author R.J. Chuck [Royersford] explores the relationship between the complex emotion of shame and the roots it has in Judeo-Christian theology and culture. He assets that whether it is in the form of an act which produces guilt, embarrassment, or humiliation, shame is clearly now shown to actually be the product of, something Chuck refers to as "the unsatisfied Primary Interpersonal Need; the illusion linking shame to an event cause has led a number of the world's religions to declare and wage a millennia old war against sin by designating any and all shame-producing actions as sinful."

"Robert Chuck's book, Shame: The Way of Redirection, offers an innovative, thought-provoking and needed reinterpretation of the TANHKH (the Old Testament) and its understanding of shame. Further, he superbly uses modern psychology as an interpretive principle. Those who read this book will be challenged and, if not intimidated by his fresh interpretations, will grow in their faith. This work has great potential for making a fine contribution to our understanding of the universal human search for meaning and significance." - Dr. Albert Randall, Professor of Philosophy at Austin Peay State University.

R.J. Chuck reveals that the Garden of Eden was actually God's first of many attempts to teach manking what shame is, and has always been: The Mechanism of Interpersonal Redirection unto the person within us.
