Residential center names director

SIOUX CITY | Robyn Deacon has been director of Dismas Charities Sioux City.

Deacon previous served as social services coordinator at the residential re-entry center, which opened in February 2012 under contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Prior to joining Dismas, Deacon served on the adjunct psychology faculty at Western Iowa Tech Community College, and as a counseling intern at Living Waters Counseling and at the Exchange Center.

Deacon also served as a Samford University intern for the Jefferson County (Alabama) Sheriff's Department and a student assistant to investigations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms.

She holds an associate degree in psychology, a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in sociology and a master's degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University.
