Report: Millikin professor murdered family when young

A downstate Illinois professor will keep his job, despite a published report that he killed his parents and sister more than 45 years ago.

James St. James teaches psychology at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.

But a newspaper in Texas reported last week, St. James changed his name after a shocking crime.

At age 15, James Wolcott sniffed airplane glue and killed his family in a fit of paranoid schizophrenia.

He was found not guilty by reason of insanity, and treated at a mental hospital for six years.

Millikin says St. James should be praised for rebuilding his life, and he’ll keep his job.
