Registration is starting for online summer classes

Registration has begun for online classes being offered this summer by Chesterfield County Public Schools:

  • Registration opens Feb. 6 and closes May 21 for Health and P.E. 9 and 10.
  • Registration opens March 5 and closes June 15 for all other online classes: English 9, 10, 11 and 12; World History I and II; Virginia and U.S. History; Virginia and U.S. Government; Algebra I and II; Geometry; Earth/Space Science I and II; Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Psychology; Sociology; and Economics and Personal Finance.

Online classes are open to all high school students, no matter where they live. Students must get approval from their school counselor and principal to enroll. Summer tuition costs $250 for residents of Chesterfield County and $500 for all other students.

“Online classes offer a flexible way for students to get ahead, clear space in their schedule in the coming school year or make up a class that did not go well for them this year,” said Manager of Online Instruction David Rankin. “Each summer, about 800 students take an online class with Chesterfield County Public Schools.”

Additional summer classes may be scheduled or class offerings may change

based on enrollment. For updated information, visit ccpsonline.ccpsnet.net, email ccpsonline@ccpsnet.net or call (804) 279-7394.

In addition to online classes, Chesterfield County Public Schools offers school-based summer classes. Registration will open in April or May for those classes.
(Wondering how students take P.E. online? They participate in 70 hours of physical activity, which is monitored by a coach, fitness instructor or other adult.)
