Psychology conference for Inverness

AN important conference for trainee clinical psychologists in the Highlands will be held in Inverness this week.

The sixth annual Highland Psychology Research Conference takes place in the Centre for Health Science at Raigmore Hospital on Wednesday.

Chaired by Dr Andrew MacDougall, consultant clinical psychologist at NHS Highland, the conference will provide an opportunity for trainees to talk about their work.

Dr MacDougall explained: “The annual conference provides an opportunity for trainee clinical psychologists to showcase the important research they are undertaking and, in doing, so to raise the profile of NHS Highland as a research-active health board.

“In the past trainees have had their research published in major international journals and have gone on to make important contributions in their chosen clinical fields.”

In addition, Emma Law and Dr Peter Connelly of the Scottish Dementia Network will give a presentation outlining some of the current issues in dementia research in Scotland and explaining the work of the network.
