Psychologist ‘IPads Are The New Childminders’

Children are now spending a large amount of time in front of a TV or tablet

IPads and iphones have become virtual nannies for children as young as two and have become the new pacifiers, according to an expert in child psychology.

The Irish Daily Mail is reporting on the 'cyberbabies phenomenon' today, which cyber psychologist Mary Aiken says will damage children's ability to function as normal members of society.

Early Childhood Ireland estimates that most children now spend around five hours a day in front of an animated screen.

They recommend that children under the age of two should have no screen time whatsoever, while children over the age of two should be limited to one or two hours a day.
