Based in the College of Science, Engineering and Health, the School of Health Sciences (SHS) has over 3000 students spread over our undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees in the areas of Complementary Medicine (Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic and Osteopathy), Nursing, and Psychology. The School offers accredited programs for practitioner registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency through the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, Chiropractic Board of Australia, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Osteopathy Board of Australia and the Psychology Board of Australia .

We are currently seeking two Associate Professors or Professors, Clinical Sciences who will be responsible for research, consulting and continuing education across all of the disciplines of the SHS, and leadership and mentoring of academic staff within the School. The positions will make a contribution to the research efforts of the School, with responsibility for research leadership in clinical sciences with a focus on Chronic Disease Management and related fields.

The positions will lead complementary medicine, nursing and psychology teams who are dedicated to research in evidence-based healthcare with a focus on the ageing population and chronic disease. The positions will build the research profile in care of the ageing population by developing sustainable links between clinicians, government departments, academics and key industry partners.

Research engagement will include attracting competitive grants, publications in high impact journals and effective supervision of postgraduate research students and postdoctoral research staff. These positions will contribute to the design, development, review and evaluation of quality teaching and learning programs, ensuring an effective teaching and learning environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

These roles will see the successful candidates engage in leadership within the School and clinical community in order to advance the profile and reputation of SHS. You will represent the School within the RMIT community at meetings, forums, seminars and taking a leadership role when required and delivering guest lectures when appropriate. Furthermore, you will have proven ability to develop innovative approaches to course delivery and student-centred learning as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, build and maintain productive networks within and external to the organisation.
