Premarital Jitters May be a Divorce-Reason

Researchers have for the first time found that premarital fidgets are strongly linked to divorces, in a majority of cases, according to a report uncovered recently.

Lead author Justin Lavner and colleagues, from the University of California, Los Angeles, say that a feeling of nervousness before marriage should not be taken lightly by anyone. Not only an uncertainly about getting married leads one to feel dissatisfaction with their married life. But, it many times makes a woman to get separate forever from her partner.

Published in the online Journal of Family Psychology, the study was conducted on some 464 newlyweds. It was clearly noted that people who just got married for they had to, ignoring their hesitation, were more probable to demand divorces as compared to their counterparts.

As per the findings, 19% of women and 14% of men with pre-wedding doubts faced splitsville following four years of their marriage only. However, 8-9% of the ones without doubts were divorced. Also, an amazing figure of people with doubts was noted with 38% of wives having the same and 47% of husbands. Women were the ones having more trouble after-marriage.

"Very often in describing problems, they say something to the effect of 'I saw all the signs before we got married and I ignored them”, said family law attorney Susan Winters.
