Allied Services Integrated Health System

A reception was held for John Harvey, Ph.D., director of psychological services, who is retiring. For the past 32 years, Dr. Harvey has worked with clients with learning disabilities, developmental challenges and memory challenges.

Jennifer Meckes, Psy.D, who has been with Allied Services for six years, is taking over for Dr. Harvey as director. Dr. Meckes specializes in the assessment of primarily children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Meckes earned her doctor of psychology degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2004. She earned her undergraduate psychology degree from the University of Scranton.

Christie Sworen-Parise, Psy.D. will take Dr. Meckes' former position of assistant director. Dr. Sworen-Parise specializes in cognitive and learning evaluations and assessment, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She earned her Psy.D. from Argosy University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Sworen-Parise runs a social skills group called "Connections" in Luzerne County for adolescents diagnosed with Asperger's.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins Associates

Marjorie A. Feehan, Realtor, has joined as a sales associate working in the Stroudsburg area. Ms. Feehan graduated from the Pocono Mountain Real Estate Academy in 2009, passed the required exams and has been in the real estate industry since. Ms. Feehan lives in Upper Mount Bethel.

First National Community Bank

Donald H. Ryan has joined the board of directors of Employment Opportunity Training Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Mr. Ryan is currently senior vice president/human resources officer of the bank. He served as operations director of Johnson College before joining the bank. Mr. Ryan currently serves on the board of directors of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. He has an MBA from Seton Hall University, New Jersey.

Foley, Comerford Cummins

Daniel E. Cummins, a partner with the Scranton law firm, has been granted an AV Preeminent rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the directory's highest possible rating for ethical and professional excellence among attorneys. Mr. Cummins, who graduated from Villanova University and the Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, focuses his practice on automobile accidents, slip and fall matters and products liability cases.

Hourigan, Kluger Quinn

Michael A. Lombardo III, a principal in the law firm, has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list, a new professional organization comprising America's top young trial attorneys. A graduate of King's College and Dickinson School of Law, Mr. Lombardo focuses his practice on general litigation. He is a member of Pittston City Council, president of the board of the Pittston YMCA and a member of Downtown Tomorrow. He also is a member of the Pittston City Fire Department, and a member and past vice president of the Greater Pittston Ambulance and Rescue Association.

Jacobi Capital Management

Two senior executives have joined the firm. Joseph Thompson, Ph.D., joined as a managing director and member of the investment committee. He now heads up the firm's research analysis group. Mr. Thompson earned his Ph.D. in particle physics from Stony Brook University, and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Newtown Square.

J. Gregory Banks joins the firm as a vice president and will be responsible for originating new business and relationships for the firm. Mr. Banks is a native of Dallas, a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, and earned his bachelor's degree from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.

JVW Inc.

James Graham has been named vice president of public relations. This new position is designed to drive the company's growth, offer a new business line by adding to JVW Inc.'s large suite of services and reaffirm its commitment to the highest levels of professionalism and client support. Mr. Graham, a media and public relations industry veteran, has experience in public relations for such high-profile events as Superbowls XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX; the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City; as well as working with large municipalities in the U.S. and the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Graham is a Moscow native and an active member of the Luzerne County law enforcement community and will continue with his duties there.

Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance

Frank Migneco, a government procurement specialist, has joined the staff. He will be networking with clients and providing technical, marketing and informational assistance to businesses regarding government contracting opportunities. In addition, he will be assisting in the administration of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center program. Mr. Migneco lives in Carbon County with his wife, Linda, and two daughters. He received his bachelor's degree from Southampton College of Long Island University and master's degree from Montclair State University.

Oliver, Price Rhodes

Michael O'Brien has been appointed to the Federal Bar Association's eight-member Military Task Force. The Federal Bar Association, headquartered in Arlington, Va., serves the interests and needs of more than 15,000 federal lawyers and judges in the United States. Mr. O'Brien focuses his practice on civil litigation, oil and gas law and municipal law and criminal defense. He is also a judge advocate in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and has taught business law at Marywood University.
