Paine College Names new Provost and VP of Academic Affairs – WJBF

Augusta, GA -

Paine College has announced the hiring of a new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.  Dr. Cheryl Evans-Jones has been a member of the Paine College Community for over 20 years, holding positions such as Coordinator of the Department of Psychology, Interim Chair of the Division of Social Sciences, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs.   

Announcing the appointment Thursday Morning, Interim President Dr. Samuel Sullivan says:   "Dr. Jones brings a wide range of experience in higher education to Paine College."  "She has an impressive record as a team builder and has demonstrated considerable leadership during this special time in the life of the College."

Dr. Jones has been the acting Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs since September of 2014.  Her background includes a BA in Psychology from  Fisk University with a Marts of Arts and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Clinical-Child/Developmental Psychology from Ohio State University.
