Pacifica Graduate Institute, an accredited higher education graduate school, features new summer/fall workshops, seminars and teleconferences to serve local and global communities.

Pacifica Graduate Institute, an accredited higher education graduate school, announced new summer workshops, seminars and teleconferences on a range of issues critical to today’s world. Programs will take place at the Ladera Lane campus in Santa Barbara or in an on-line format for world-wide access. Participants will explore provocative topics in the fields of dreamwork, ecotherapy, writing, storytelling, yoga, meditation, psychology, and mythological studies through the lens of depth psychology.

“We welcome the public to attend these special programs and events on campus and on-line, with the intention of offering Pacifica's extensive educational resources to our wider community,” states Dr. Stephen Aizenstat, Chancellor and Founding President of Pacifica. “Many programs offer valuable continuing education credits for professionals in the field.”

Pacifica Graduate Institute features highly-acclaimed faculty and leading professionals presenting on a wide range of topics, from the humanities and culture, to counselling and clinical psychology.

The special programs include:

  • Dream Tending: A Practical Approach to Dreamwork with Stephen Aizenstat;
  • Ecotherapy: Nature Reconnection as a Powerful, Transformational Healing Practice, with Linda Buzzell;
  • Sacred Encounters: Yoga, Meditation and Depth Psychology, a weekend conference with multiple presenters;
  • Coming Home to the Body: The Legacy of Marion Woodman, collaboration between Pacifica Graduate Institute and the Marion Woodman Foundation.

A series of writers’ workshops includes:

  • Storytelling and Archetypal Activisim, with Craig Chalquist;
  • Inside Story: Building Powerful Narrative from the Inside Out, with Dara Marks and Deb Norton;
  • Your Story Accelerator: Bring Your Story to Life and Put Your Ideas into Action, with Thyonne Gordon;
  • Hunting and Gathering: Seeking the Shards of our Patterned Plot with Dennis Patrick Slattery.

A series of teleconferences includes:

  • Into the Depths of Humanities: A Teleconference with Susan Rowland, Ph.D.
  • Healing: The Return to Wholeness with Allen Koehn, D. Min.
  • What is at the Heart of Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology, Ecopsychology

Many public programs offer continuing education credits for Marriage Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Registered Nurses.
