State water officials might need to involve themselves in a little give and take when it comes to conservation goals for the next few months.
Statewide, Californians have more than met expectations. Some of that is because they were able to cut back where it hurts only a little — the amount they used to irrigate landscapes. From here on through the winter months, that easier route isn't going to be available. The cutbacks will be indoors and harder to gain now through the next several months.
