Lisa Marie Givner has joined Babst Calland as the director of human resources. Ms. Givner has more than 20 years of human resources experience. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Professional in Human Resources designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute. Ms. Givner was formerly the regional human resources manager for ParenteBeard.


Ryan D. Elliott, Michael C. Murphy and Nikolas E. Tysiak joined Babst Calland as associates.

Mr. Elliott joined the environmental services and energy and natural resources groups. He assists clients on a wide variety of environmental matters including federal and state air, water and waste regulatory compliance, and permitting and issues arising in the development of the Marcellus and Utica shales. Mr. Elliott, who earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2010, was formerly with Schumaker, Koop Kendrick, LLP in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Murphy joined the environmental services group. He concentrates his practice primarily on site remediation, solid and hazardous waste, and environmental issues arising in corporate and real estate transactions. He represents potentially responsible parties in all stages of Superfund cleanups. Mr. Murphy, who earned his J.D. from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, in 2006, was formerly with Phillips Lytle, LLP in Buffalo.

Mr. Tysiak joined the energy and natural resources and business services groups. He practices in the areas of energy and real estate law, with a primary focus on transactions and ownership involving oil and gas, where he has extensive experience identifying and curing real estate title issues in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Mr. Tysiak also maintains a general real estate practice.

Mr. Tysiak, who earned his J.D. from Washington College of Law at American University in 2005, was formerly with Jackson Kelly, PLLC in Wheeling, WVa..


Blumling Gusky, LLP has added an attorney and elected a partner. Jeffrey Brahan was named a partner in the construction and surety industry practice group. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Sharon Menchyk joined as an associate practicing in commercial, employment and general litigation matters.

She received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.


Lynch Weis, LLC said Christopher A. Cafardi joined as senior counsel.

Mr. Cafardi is a business lawyer with extensive experience in small to mid-size business matters, employment matters, commercial litigation, and residential and commercial construction litigation.

He received his law degrees from Duquesne University.


Sitko Bruno, LLC, said Dawn M. Felder joined its firm. Ms. Felder concentrates her practice in all aspects of commercial real estate law. She received her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law, cum laude, where she was a member of the Law Review.


Carolyn Batz McGee joined Eckert Seamans Cherin Mellott, LLC as an associate in its litigation division. She formerly worked at Cipriani Werner, P.C. Ms. McGee focuses her practice on general commercial litigation and products liability matters. She also has experience in labor and employment, civil rights, municipal law and transportation litigation. She also served as a law clerk for Nora Barry Fischer in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and as a judicial intern for Maureen Lally-Green, former Superior Court judge. She earned her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law.
