NSU delegation is invited by the White House to convention

A team of five school counseling professionals, including three NSU representatives, traveled to San Diego State University Nov. 17-18 to represent the state of Oklahoma at an “invitation-only” convening on improving college counseling among school counselors. The group joined a total of 32 state teams who wrote plans to increase equity and access for post-high school graduation planning for all students.

Reach-Higher, an initiative of Michelle Obama, calls for regaining the United States’ No. 1 standing in terms of the number of college graduates by the year 2020. She has targeted the training and expertise of school counselors to assist in reaching this goal.
