New therapy app for anxiety disorders

People suffering from anxiety disorders can now seek instant help through a new iPhone app designed to aid treatment.

A Psychology expert has developed an app called PsycAssist, which includes exercises and strategies to help people cope in times of distress, as well as features to enhance interaction between patients and therapists.

The app acts as a toolbox containing a range of techniques, which therapists can use to assign in-between sessions homework for patients. It also records data, allowing therapists to send notifications if they notice that their patients are not following through with homework.
