New scholarship honors fallen Winthrop graduate

Floyd, who came to Winthrop after graduating from the S.C. Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, majored in psychology and biology
at the university. She also worked as a research assistant.

The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in psychology and/or biology, with preference given to female students from Chester, and second preference to female students from York, Lancaster, Union and Fairfield counties. Additional preference is also given to students who played at least two seasons of Dixie Girls Softball and those selected at All-Stars, both honors which Floyd had received.
