A psychiatric institute under the name of Institute for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICP) opened on Saturday.

Founded by the International Medical and Diagnostic Centre (IMDC), the institute is situated at Henveiru ward Haifa in capital Malé.

According to ICP, the services they offer include psychiatric therapy and counselling, religious counselling and marriage counselling. Additionally, they organise training programmes for employees of restaurants, schools and offices.

ICP stated they are also working to provide higher education studies in the field of psychology. They have already signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with Sri Lanka’s Colombo Institute for Research and Psychology.

IMDC also manages a multi-speciality hospital in Addu city.
