The Lawrence Public Library has a new director. Brad Allen, the Evergreen Branch Manager and Programming Coordinator for the Everett Public Library in Everett, WA, has accepted the position.

The Library says Allen holds a B.A. in American Studies and Psychology from KU, a M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, and a M.A. in Afro-American Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Allen also has library management experience with the Los Angeles Public Library and the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.

He is set to start May 1 with a salary of $88,000.
