A licensed psychological associate known for counseling work in Sparta and Boone will be offereing counseling services in Elkin.

Carol Pulley will provide services in Elkin inside the office of Dr. Mark Heiner located at 101 A Eldon Parks Dr.

Pulley obtained a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University. She provides counseling services to children, adolescents and adults.

“I had always wanted to work with children,” said Pulley to The Tribune. “When I had the chance to move up here from Florida over a decade ago and when I went to school for this study, I discovered that I liked working with college kids and adults too. My passion to help people evolved from there.”

Pulley specializes in individual counseling sessions, couples and families who find themselves struggles with relationships, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, women’s issues, eating disorders, self-destructive behaviors, life stresses, transitions and other challenges.

According to Pulley, the average session is an hour and her office accepts most insurance plans.

“My schedule is flexible too. I expect to be in Elkin a couple of days per week,” she said.
